Boštjan Lipovšek is a guest not only in the Subscription Cycle, but also in the Zadar Chamber Orchestra Cycle. This excellent hornist has been a guest in almost all significant recent productions of the Orchestra, especially in the performances of Beethoven’s symphonies in the cathedral.
This time, under the firm direction of Aleksandar Kalajdžić, a Croatian-born conductor with a permanent residence in Germany, Lipovšek will appear as soloist in the performance of two pieces: Concert for horn and strings by Georg Philipp Telemann and the Rêveriefor the same ensemble by Alexander Glazunov.
This concert is going to be the first appearance of the Zadar Chamber Orchestra in St Nicholas’ Church, a concert venue that is acoustically harmonious and a unique backstage in which the Zadar-based strings will also perform the Concerto grosso in D major, Op. 6, No. 4, by Arcangelo Corelli and the Symphony No. 10in B minor by Felix Mendelssohn.
