The Zadar Chamber Orchestra, a 57-year-old ensemble, entered its mature 58th season with a concert that was directed by its chief conductor, working together with the widely acclaimed violinist and master of his instrument, Stefan Milenković. The artist, who started his career as a six-year-old, won or appeared in the finals of prestigious international violinist competitions by the age of 17, and today is a mature musician renowned worldwide. Despite having a heavy schedule of soloist and chamber performances, Milenković simultaneously works as a dedicated pedagogue, an associate professor of violin at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and as a guest professor of the Belgrade Music Academy. The Zadar audience, which welcomes him often and with enthusiasm, will be treated to an interpretation of the Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35, by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

For the second part of the concert, Mo. Ivan Repušić, who is coming to Zadar after having taken on the duty of the chief conductor of the Munich Radio Orchestra in September, and after debuting in the Prinzregententheater with the internationally renowned singing stars, among whom the soprano Marina Rebeka notably stood out, has chosen Symphony No. 4 in A major, Op. 90, by Felix Mendelssohn. The optimistic Romanticist masterpiece of the composer, who, in less than forty years of life, left a significant oeuvre, is recognizable for an irresistible ease of expression based on German systematicness. And exactly precision and systematicness, enriched by facility and naturalness of expression, make the most discernible qualities of our Zadar-born conductor Ivan Repušić; therefore, the performance of this work reachesits pinnacles under his direction.
