Concert and guest performance by Armenian cellist David Grigorian and his wife, Ukrainian pianist Ludmila Lissovaja, was inspired by their collaboration with the Music School Blagoje Bersa and Zadar Concert Office. In order to enable the ever-increasing number of local young cellists to work with the prominent pedagogue and soloist David Grigorian, 9-12 February will also feature workshops and concerts.
While interested musicians will get the opportunity to attend cello lessons, wider audiences will enjoy this artist's lavish interpretations of works for cello and piano by W. A. Mozart, F. Schubert, S. Rahmaninoff, N. Rimsky-Korsakov, S. Prokofiev and A. Glazunov performed at the University Grand Hall. David Grigorian was a student of the famous Mstislav Rostropovich and graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory. In 1970 he won the Tchaikovsky Competition, and has been performing relentlessly and continuing his pedagogical work throughout the world ever since. He holds regular guest performances with his wife, also a graduate of Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and a distinguished soloist and chamber musician in her own right. Both currently reside in Munich.
